When you
are a new ARMY and you make the decision to bias Taehyung, once of the first
thing you notice is that when you ask for Taehyng, half the comments tell you
his name is Taehyung and the other half tell you he’s V.
And then
it comes the shaming if you call him V. Calling Taehyung “V” is considered a “no
jams” thing because that’s not he’s real name and since we love him and feel
close to him we should call him by his real name ONLY.
So what
happens when the press, new fans, casual listeners and GP only know BTS V
instead of Taehyung? We split
Kim Taehyung in half.
Let me show you how!
1. FACEBOOK
Taehyung doesn't have the most followed fanpage on Facebook.
Jungkook's fanpage is #1 with 2.1M followers
Taehyung is #2, but Taehyung is the only member with 2 fanpages with +1M followers
But guess what? His most followed fanpage is BTS V with 1.3M while his second most followed fanpage is Taehyung with 1.2M followers.
Jimin's is the third with 1M followers.

2. INSTAGRAM
Just like Facebook, Taehyung doesn't have the most followed BTS fanpage on Instagram.
Jungkook's fanpage has 5.7M followers and Jimin's recently reached 5.8M
Meanwhile, Taehyung's most followed fanpage has 5.4M
BUT
He's the only BTS member with 2 Fanpages with more than 4M followers.
And if you see down bellow one fanpage is for BTS TAEhyung
and the second most followed is for BTS V
3. #TAEHYUNG
When you see media articles about Taehyung you don't see "BTS TAEHYUNG DID THAT!"
you see "BTS V DID THAT"
When Taehyung fansites tweet his pictures, only around 70% of them use #Taehyung, most of them use #태형 #뷔 #태태 #방탄소년단 #BTS (these were copy/pasted exactly from a fansite tweet).
I think it's US, international fans that call him Taehyung the most and use #Taehyung the most.
We use #Taehyung more than #BTSV, what's why on December 2018 it was released that #Taehyung was the #10 most tweeted Kpop hashtag of the year.
Taehyung is NOT his stage name which means, using #Taehyung isn't helping him at all.
Some months ago, before I opened V-World (I think) I talked to a journalist about BTS. She is fan of Taehyung so we ended up talking about him and one of the things that shocked me the most was when she told me they (reporters, journalists) search the member's names on twitter. She told me she thought BTS V wasn't among the most popular BTS members because BTS V had one of the fewest mentions from fans...
I told her about BTS V and Taehyung and yes, she was aware of that, but she wasn't aware of that when writing about BTS was only part of her job.
That being said, if we want more recognition for Taehyung it's time we start talking about #BTSV as much as we talk about #Taehyung.
